Today I launched my newest website and company, shannonhodges.com. For those of you who don't know me (yet) for the last several years I've been co-owner of a successful award-wining video production and photography studio. As the business began to grow leaps and bounds it was putting undo pressure on my family who never saw me. Working 100 plus hours per week, often falling asleep on my studio couch, I would miss alot of time with my kids.
One Sunday morning after I had been working every night all week long and staying at the studio instead of coming home my four year old asked my wife, "are we going to visit daddy where he lives today?" Hearing that was enough for me to realize that despite my successful business the only ones hurting were my family. This of course followed the annoucemnt of my wife being pregnant with our third child. Therefore, back in May we found someone to sublease our studio and started making arrangments to scale back the business. My business partner and I both wanted to spend more time with our families, and therefore have decided to open independant companies where we can pick and choose which events to take, instead of attempting to take them all :)
So starting today, instead of shooting 40 plus weddings in 2009, I will ONLY shoot 10-15 from this point forward. Those of you who know me understand that I have a deep passion for photography & video. I love creating wedding films (despite the extremely long turn around time) and I truly enjoy photographing people. I've been saying for over a year now that, "It's about moments in time, that define who you are, where you have been, and who you have loved". I've scaled back because I didn't want to lose those moments with my family, plus I owe it to my clients, whom I consider friends for a faster turn around time.
Those of you who still have projects with Creative Studios, rest assured that your product will not suffer during this transition. I'm so confident in my work that I'm putting my name on it, hence, Shannon Hodges ~ Cinematic Imagery.
Thanks for all the support as we move forward.

Oh, and my wife did give birth to our third SON, which was a surprise. We have named him Ari (R-E) Julian. Lots of pictures of him and his two older brothers will be uploaded soon. Regards...
